    my words can't explain what that generation sacrificed for us, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be able to read and experience stories like this for ourselves! It looks like it was one hell of a ride!!! even better you got to do it with your pop.

    Congratulations on your adventure! Thank your Dad and give him a hug for the experience! My grandfather was an instructor pilot on B-24's & B-25's - it was always a treat to hear him talk about his flying adventures! I've been blessed with the opportunities to ride on a B-17, B-24 & B-25...it definitely gave me a small taste of what these guys did for the rest of us - what bravery!!! A good friend of mine is one of the pilot's for the B-17 that the EAA operates (Aluminum Overcast). The EAA foots the bill and he (and the other pilots/mechanics/crew) volunteer their time to keep the bomber touring so we have the opportunity to tour it and fly on it. Again, congrats!
