My next door neighbor lady would have her little card parties in the early afternoon and frowned on me for grinding during their little parties. She would ask do you have to do that stuff now, well yes, it's either now or two in the morning. She stopped complaining when, I said that I didn't complain about her son's punk rock band,they were very loud. CRUISER
I gotta say I'm really lucky with this subject my neighbors are pretty cool. All are older car guy's to varies degrees.. plus when ever theirs a party at my place I always invite them. They get into the culture on their own level which is fine, but I also respect them buy not goin crazy in the hood. We just had a Labor Day party, invited some buddies, family and neighbors... Deke Dickerson was stayin with me, I had him and his band play, was a great time... I think stuff like that help smooth things over. Especially because I will do something stupid....just a matter of time. The guy next to me was directing cars into his driveway and yard so people wouldn't have to park their rods on the street. Also helped out because their were about 10 little kids runnin around on bikes and scouters.
I don't think pastor's are supposed to hate! But i really don't think he likes me. I live on a dead end private drive off of a dead end road......the pastor, his wife, and her parents live just past me.....yes I always have alot of cars and parts in the yard, and yes I play the stereo late at night(AC/DC) and crank up the loudest cars i got too! They used to wave......................................they don't anymore.....and I don't care.

At my last house the neighbors hated me, cops called, local council called, environmental police and everything. At my new house I invited both of the neighbors around to see what I do and explained that I would not be using any power tools after 10pm (normally) and if at any time I case a problem to come round at tell me. So far 4 yeas later, no problems! I guess it pays to be pro active
update: been in this house almost one year yes its private and on a very wooded lot older lady, I havent met yet stopped in front of the drive yesterday....backed up...and says.... "holy shit someone actually does live back here" being civil, and using common sense...will generally get you better results than being a "cool guy, noise making,look at how badass I am chachi"
well they keep me up most nights with their drunken partying and loud bass. I always try to be a good neighbor to everyone but like i said some people are just assholes. It's the ghetto here,they are running a bar from someones backyard a half a block away, lots of ghetto trash here . used to be a nice neighborhood.

They don't hate me. But one thinks I'm an asshole. The one to the west, and the one across the alley are kinda gearheads and don't mind the noise etc. The one across the street is a rodder, so he loves my toys. The one to the east thinks I'm a raving lunatic. His idea of a car hobby, is you buy a new one every other year and junk the old one. The others don't much care as long as I keep the noise down after 9:00 PM
you kidding? my son's worse than i am. glad he's got a wife to calm him down now! talk about keeping the place cleaned up, i scrapped a '79 E100 van for the engine and filled that puppy to the ROOF with excess crap that i'd accumulated and had absolutely no use for. since i don't have a "proper" garage i have to work out in the open, so it's not much trouble to quit when the light dies. i don't make any racket before 9 AM either, i wish the OTHER folks around would keep to the code on that. i hate waking up to leaf blowers and lawn mowers at the break of dawn.
In our neighborhood we have 3 acre lots so they aren't that close. But 3 out of 4 are car guys. One has a supercharged Mustang, one an Jag XKE and the other has a 64 Galaxie Convert. So we all get along pretty ggod.
I don't get this post. Why would they hate you? If your neighbor hates you there is probably a reason. Don't be a dick and maybe it will change.
My neighbors all looked at me like I was invading their life and would steal their cement ducks from the patio when I moved in. Years later I am the old guy in the neighborhood and have worked on every lawn mower that wouldn't run as well as helped them get unstuck in the winter when the snow plowed them in. They now hand me fresh vegetables and cold beer over the fence when I come home. It took a while but a little friendly hello and hows your dog doing gets them won over. Now when I have a problem, like a new roof or building a deck they all help out. And yes I was young and wild when I moved here, I have had over 20 cars in the driveway at one time, cut them up with a torch behind the garage, built stock cars, choppers, drag cars and just plain raised hell. Never had the police here, or been asked to keep it down. An today I have 8 cars on site but respect the neighbors rights to have their fun also. Can't we all just get along.
I live on a acreage so my neigbors are not real close but the ones just down the road really hate me after I got there pit bulls put down after the attact my wife. I would have killed the dogs myself that night if I could have found them.
