I found this one last winter. And this one is on the old ranch where I grew up. It was my grampa's. Obviously a 3 window and a 5 window but appear to be maybe 26-27 models?? Did dodge make a 3 and a 5 window at the same time? I see the trunk area is different too so maybe different years or was the trunk and rumble seat models different on the same years? Since the one was Grampa's I would like to ressurect it, knowing the side in the dirt is gone. The other one is decent but the doors are gone.
They did make 3 and 5 window coupes at the same time. The 5 window is NOT '24 or '25 as they would be Fisher bodied, with wood like a Chevy. I have one of those. They are not '27, they have a cowl vent. Can you post other detail pics?
Now you're getting somewhere. What is the measurement top to bottom? I'm headed to Hershey, may be a few days until I'm back, but that measurement will tell a lot about the year. BTW, it came off of a deluxe becausee it's nickled, would have had cowl lights too.
A new twist, yesterday I found a dilapitated heap for sale that is like the one on it's side (my gramp's car) and all that is much good is the drivers door and trunklid. I called the number and left a message.
Good Luck with those Dodge coupes. Around 1969 or 70 I found a 1928 Dodge "Fast Four" coupe in South Dakota ($25) and hauled it home to North Dakota, with the intent of building it into a rod. It was a 3-window, as I recall, and had a grill like the one you pictured above--- Really did like its body lines and thick solid metal. But, Uncle Sam sent me to Southeast Asia about that time and I had a follow-on tour of duty in Germany, so when I came home 4 years had p***ed and the folks had given the "old rusty-looking jalopy" away in the meantime. I miss it. Your pics bring back some good memories. I'm putting together a 1931 Dodge pickup at present. Now that's some pretty scarce tin!
I just picked up a 27 last week. Is the car where you could shoot a detail picture of the roof wood? Lenny
Get all three....Great that the 5 window was your gramp's old car, cool that you have a history there...makes the task of bringing it back that much sweeter!! Good luck and keep us posted.
Cool find. I just picked up a 28 Dodge Coupe the first of the year. Mine is a 3 window. Does anyone know where some doors and a trunk lid are?
