Trying to ID an early Dodge Flathead Six Motor. Does anyone out there have a link available that will properly ID this old Flathead, need to order some parts. The VIN on the surfaced flat is D42-432541, another number cast into the block above the oil pan is 52 5-22 1326229-46 Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Robert Stanley
D42 indicates a Dodge 1951 or 1952 Coronet model. It is a six cylinder flathead, 230 cu in, 103HP. Bore and stroke 3 1/4 X 4 5/8. The 52 5-22 may indicate a casting date of May 22 1952. These were a very popular engine used in cars and trucks until 1959, and industrial engines till the early seventies. Parts easy to get and not expensive. Your local auto parts store can get most things, but you could also try Vintage Power Wagons in Iowa. They have a lot of NOS and used parts, Dodge power wagons used the same engine.
@Rusty O'Toole is spot on, but here is a link anyway https://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php
