Good news. Glad you will be getting the goods back. Now Johnny can sleep again.

  2. Hahaha DOM knows first hand that hottie was raised in the tough part of Santa Ana and when she gets pissed off - like getting a metal shard in her foot - that I was supposed to sweep up  wow - look out o_O she's a keeper. I wish she would race, she would "keep that bitch on the floor" :D

Yeah Johnny has cameras and a monitored alarm now. We went up to his shop and measured for window bars. It was a good wake up call. The times we live in have moved on and he has stayed in place. Which is why I love that guy
But some things need attention when folks want to steal your stuff.

Saturday Jack came over and we got the 31 out for a drive. Went to a buddies shop and talked cars for 3 hours. He recently inherited a fire suite from a friend who passed. I wanted so bad to put it on - pants and all, but it was kinda stiff and he is afraid it will crack. Is there anything that will soften this but not hurt it?

  3. We went home about sunset and I was done. It was hot. Jack wanted to work on the car so, I pulled up a chair and supervised :D this is kinda nice. The 4.86 rear gear is too much for 1/8th mile so a 5.43 is going in for Union.

Gotta get the boy some black shirts though. He got gear oil on his Moonlighter shirt.

I told him the chunk was heavy  but he wanted to pull it himself ;)

  4. Got this printed and framed for Johnny to hang in his shop - behind bars of course.

Make sure he gets with the prosecutor so they can throw the whole book at the bastard or the whole library at them for that matter.

Can one send you a PM and pick your brain for I have seem to have lost mine.

  12. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Not sure about this, but since it was your (and others) part's that were stolen out of Johnny's shop, can't you guys also band together and press charges? Seems like a unified front like that would up the pressure on the court system to punish him to the maximum amount allowed by law. Maybe not, because of the legality of facing more than one charge for the same part theft, but at a minimum you could all show up to testify against the theif. Was it a fellow racer, or just some lowlife? Sorry if I seem like a hard case, I've been on the receiving end of this several times, and one time even knew who did it, and he STILL got away with it! A "supposedly" mutual friend gave him a heads up I was looking for him and he disappeared. Unfortunately for me, I was only a week away from trsnsferring to hawaii, and that kinda killed anyone trying to prosecute him.

  13. Damn glad they caught the douchenozzle.

I am not getting notifications either, just had to go back a few pages an catch up. Looking good brother. K:cool::cool:L

  15. I hear ya Blownfuel - in the revolving door justice system of today he might not hang like we all wish. But - on the bright side - Forsyth county just built a new jail and are eager to fill it with long lasting tenants

Got the news on The recovery of Johnny's stuff over the weekend!! Glad they caught that trash!
Really cool to see the Kid helping out on the car! More kids now adays need to trade in the playstions for a box of tools!!

  17. Scot - the target is 6500 rpm and drop the clutch - from the GoPro it looks like 6000. I'm hoping the new lower gear will help it from bogging when the clutch is dropped.

The shift light and mag are not getting along AT ALL. Looks like a disco dance inside the car at night. I turned off the shift light for now. I was talking to a guy with a mag and he uses a ferrite coil on the mag wire and power going to the shift / rev limit boxes and said it cleaned it up. So that's in the works now.

  18. Wow I didn't realize it was wound that high  I know you'll get it sorted out. The Q & D has really morphed into one hellava gasser K:cool::cool:L

When working in a dealership body shop I applied for a State Trooper position and the guy taking my fingerprints tried several times and was swearing under his breath, he finally asked "are you a safecracker at night or something?" I "said "no I work in a body shop sanding cars all day" He said "I knew something was up you have very very little fingerprints left."

  24. Hahaha may have to paint the car over the winter, sanding might be in his future ;)

We got the rear gears swapped in. Wonder how much difference these will make on the launch.

  25. The top secret Carrillo pistons are finally on the drawing board. This photo was found in the dumpster out behind the secret design center. Its got to be getting close now .....

  26. Right before the Meltdown Drags, 3dnsouth came through in a big way by making this cool injection stack cover. No more tennis balls! He posted these over on the club page, but this is too cool - it needs to be on the build thread.

Wow looks like you are going pro. Nice job on that cover. Better attach it with a big chain someone may try and borrow it.

  28. Think there might be any chance to 'test' the new gears before your next SEG run?

I'm sure Jack is enjoyin' the shop time.

I still need to tighten up the sides a tad on the cover and get a liner in it.

  29. Yeah Tim - Shawn with the 56 Ford has been saying he wants to go to Commerce some Friday night. It would be a good place to see if they work or not. Not sure how you break in new gears on a drag car. The 4.86 set was in the '31 for a long time. They got hot in the beginning.

  30. Hopefully he has something for me this year at RWYB  :D I know he's been busy with work lately.

Sorry Tony for the hijack  Back to the regularly scheduled program :)
