  1. clark does make a gasket with all the holes. i sent them a original gasket to make a pattern. you just need to specify the gasket for use with water.

  4. Gene Adams sent the injection back and the rest of the engine re-assemble was done but damn if it wouldn't run. Alky Digger sent me a high speed bypass and I asked Gene to plum it in. He was against it and said we don't need it ..... he was right. ;)

It was acting funny with it installed - even idle was weird as the RPMs went up. Driving down the road - forget about it . We went to Joe's to free the neighbors of the noise. Joe had a AN-6 cap so on a hunch we capped the bypass. That fixed it right up!

So now we are on a -1 pump. Gene said the -0 was almost dead. He told me to either raise the gas tanks to keep the pump wet or open the line and spray WD-40 before a startup to lube the pump. I raised the tank. Its running good on a 60 pill now.

  10. WillyB for this testing I had an O2 sensor to see if the bog was rich or lean. Its good for a ball park reading because if it bogs you don't really know which way to go. At the SEG races we can't use the O2 gauge - back to the old school plug reading.

Tony ,how far apart are your wheelie bars and how high off the ground do your rollers sit?

  12. Hi Danny,
I need to check them on a flat surface but what I recall the right one is 4" and the left one is 5"
the center of the wheels are 24" apart.

I don't think Mr. Stott is trying to adhere to the letter of the law in all parts of the rules. If you did not allow tunnel rams, I don't think you could compete with the fuel injection, and the completion is very close with tunnel rams allowed, its like aftermarket aluminum heads. IMHO.

  16. We catch a lot of shit for some stuff. The main thing is 4 speeds, gasoline, no electronics, no blowers no alcohol in the engine and no bracket racing - if you're slow you lose. Everyone does not get a trophy ;)

If you look at the general direction of drag racing at present, it going to heads up-first one there wins. The N0-prep racing, radial tire racing, everything except NHRA class racing. The fans want basic heads up racing with the win light showing the winner, no breakout. If you want to win, build a faster car. This is what Mr. Stott has tapped into, and the fact a lot of us grey hairs miss gassers and modified production.

Another big plus is .....Length of the show is reasonable--You get there--watch racing--eat lunch-little more racing then get home in time to grill out The quick pace of the entire event is a big plus IMO and easier on family and racers alike
I look back and can't believe I bracket raced so many years--what was I thinking!!!
Looking forward to this Sat at Myrtle Beach!

  20. There's another good point - if my car was in a bracket then I wouldn't go out every night in the garage and look for something to tweak or cut off the body :D Because in a bracket you wouldn't want to go too fast. It keeps me playing with the car. After all of that, blink at the starting line and its all for not o_O

Hey Tony, I know you are busy getting ready for Sat. but, if you have time, can you shoot me a guesstimate on how many/what sizes of shirts for the RWYB day that the Sock Bangers might want? I'm getting them done, just want to make sure I have enough of the right sizes for those of us that will be there and want a shirt. Also, I will trade 2 RWYB shirts, any size, for 2 medium SEG shirts if someone can bring them to Reynolds the 29th. Good luck tomorrow.

Wish I knew WIH this particular thread keeps dropping out of my subscriptions to HAMB threads.
Floater 03, we have 2 threads on the SFCC socila group about RWYB, I'll go over there and ask the guys to come to the main board thread ands let their wants and needs on T shirts known ASAP.
Tony has more than enough on his plate already.

    WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quain just called me and the news ain't good boys--He has been there since Wed Things have been looking great He just phoned to say the Waccamaw river is rising fast and may be up to tracks edge by this evening--It is looking bad boys--He said to call him later this evening and they would make a decision----He has stopped guys coming from long way off Like Michigan at rest stops pending decision
Thing is --Southeast gassers have been bit by weather at Darlington and now looks like Myrtle Beach--we have to understand that Quain has been funding this whole enchilada out of his personal pocket--No race no purse but...he has hotels for his staff, travel, rentals etc his cost march on.....so if this is canceled let's not cry and sling snot
Let's plan on making it to Greer, putting on the best show ever and drawing in the crowd so he can recoup and keep this beautiful thing chugging along! If I hear I will post here ASAP if anyone else gets a call please post but let as many folks as you can know what is happening
    Thanks

  28. That's a hell of a good idea. I'm in the process of loading up to go, but if it gets canceled, I'll
gladly give the gas money I'd spend to get there and back. How can we see that Quain gets the money
and how much we care? We run every race with them and know what he does for us and the sport.
Lets find a way to help.
