You mean the Bakersfield event? They should be, maybe Competition Plus would be the place to look. Me and Porter didn't take any video LOL

did you buy anything cool in the swap meet

  12. Holy magnesium. Looks like there was plenty in the swap meet. Were the prices through the roof on the stuff or fair prices?

Yes, thanx Tony, I brought a camera but didn't even take one photo.
I chatted with you and Greg @ Famoso, man, that is one honk'n 55 Chevy huh!
I've commented to Quain and you guys in the past about making a West Coast swing, so when I spied that old green 55, I about crapped my britches.
    Glad to see you guys.

Yeah Tony, thx for the pics.
Now get your ass home and get prepared for RWYB!!!!!!! Got a local here who is just getting started on a '53 Stude coupe for SEG and he has a gig for Fri. night (he and his brothers have been a group on the local area music scene for years) but he plans to come to RWYB if you are there. He's a regular at SDR with several different cars including a '53 Chevy wagon, street legal. Please keep me informed on whether you're coming.

  16. Well when he was filling out the sales slip for $6K for 4 wheels to a guy ..... I slowly melted back away from the magnesium pile. Then ran like hell. ;)

Its a Model A - same one that was on it in the 60s - still using the 55 steering box.

I did score a magneto base with the tach output. $200 - that's the hard to find part of making a Hemi magneto. Now I can get a SBC mag from a round track car for $200 and good to go.

That's Greg Shelton from Ebay fame - he will deal with you if you talk to him for a while and he sees you are an ok dude - but he starts real high. There were mags at various other vendor spots for fair money - I like small window kidney beans and I didn't find any.

  17. It was good to put a face to a name DDDenny ! Good talking to ya! I would love it if we had a teleporter to get all the SEG cars out to the West Coast to run. That track was fantastic! I was playing Back Up Dude on Sunday and was like "Holy shit this starting line is wide! o_O " Our back water tracks are usually so narrow you can tell if you are 4 inches out of the center LOL.

  18. Yeah DOM - just talked to the Mrs and we are planning to come down early Saturday. Not thinking we will camp since I have been on the road for a week now. Looking forward to it! Wish we could get JT to come - saw where he cut his fender wells on the Ol Dirty Bastard and put on some man sized tires. He is using the 'My wife is 10 months pregnant excuse ...."

Just got home from Bako, rode down on the Amtrak, nice to take a whiz without look'n like you pissed yourself.
What a shindig Famoso is, been going for twenty years and have missed the last three (IIRC).
Not much has changed cept for those Southern boys com'n out here and taking our trophys:mad:. Man I hated to see that ol 55 make its last pass, could watch it all day long.
Tony, you don't want get too good as a "backup dude", they'll want to put a skirt and go go boots on you:eek:.
Hope yall have a safe trip home.
    Doug

That's ok.You can build a car and name it whatever you want.;)
And don't give me that excuse like at Clay City, where you claimed you "couldn't find" one to build.
If I can find a solid anglia,a C600 ramp truck, and a bunch of Doug Nash parts up here in Canada within a month, you can surely find an Anglia or 37 Chevy,or Tri Five car down there....[emoji57]
