Does anyone have a good source for...

    ...dimensions/specs for different cars? For example, it would be useful to know where I can look to find rear axle lengths from different vehicles.

    Currently, I need to find out the actual length of an original 53 Chevy coupe axle (outer drum face to drum face) and the same dimension from an 86' El Camino so that I can have wheel spacers made.

    I don't have the original axle handy and I don't want to guess.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    That's a great site but didn't seem to have what I needed. I'll have to remember this site though - its got alot of great idea photos and general specs.

    That sounds about right. I was guessing at about 59 to 60 inches for the original 1953 axle. Are you certain it is 60 inches exactly?
