Does anyone know any history on this old drag truck?

Well the plan was to build another A but I came across this truck and changed course. It is suposed to have been built by a dealership in 66' as a drag truck.

I am just wondering if anyone knows any of it's history and maybe even a place to find a few pics of it racing.

Right now we are in the midst of getting it "street legal"

Any info would be greatly apreciated.

You've been had. Not an A/G (too big and heavy). Just an old truck turned into a pretend race car.

    Ahhhhhhhhh this truck, again.
I am building a shortbed, big window '58, because of this truck!
I saw this thread and thought it just might be this one. I actually have been watching this truck attempt to be sold, for more than a year, now... It was originally on e-bay, in California, for sale with old looking, faded paint, and the A/gas identification on it, a tow bar on the back, and chrome steelies on the front.
That add said it was "painted, and built to resemble an old gasser from the sixties".
the photos in the LAST auction are from that first auction...NOT actual old photos.

I love this truck, though...I spoke to another owner, in California, about it, and nearly bought it last year, when it had the fenderwell zoomies on it, and the moon tank in the front, at this time it was painted brighter yellow, and he was listing, and re-listing it...$$$ kept coming down, down, down...
I think it sold for around about 5 g's, that go-around...Me and this truck go way back, lol...
I like the gasser treatment, on it though...so I decide to build my own. Short box though...

  7. This is (I am sure) it in 2005 at VLV...

    yep...thats her...in all her "faux-drag-truck" glory.
that was the way it looked in the auction the first time it ran...
THAT owner specified that it was built to "resemble" an old drag truck...I LOVE this damn thing, anyway, though...good luck with it!

Yea the 2nd or so time it went on ebay with the dull ''old'' look it sold wicked cheap, eversince its been back on ebay like 4 times after or w/e for much more, granted its ''shiny'' now.. i liked the older look way better.

I remember when Marcus bought that truck. I can't remember who built it but I remember talking to them. I really liked it the first time around...hated the flames but it looks MUCH better now with the new lettering. I think it's a cool old truck. I'm a bit partial to these things though since I've got one too.
