Looks like a rat rod to me - dangerous piece of junk - popcorn anyone?

  3. My sentiments, to the poor sole! That wasn't nice, since I don't know your reason for wanting to find it. I don't know where it is.

Do you want to get in touch with them to see if they are alright?
Wheels higher than the trunk is a good look.

I may be wrong, but that looks like litterally a Home Depot mailbox as an air scoop. Seriously, I am not joking, the little thumb tab is still on it.

    Nice.

ya'll don't be so tough on him, he is just looking to find a car and ya'll jump all over him, cut him some slack, your car might have been a rat rod at some time.

The nice thing about that car is it would take very little to make it a car I'd be proud to own.

  11. Seriously, did the cat shit in everyone Wheaties this morning? We all know what the HAMB is about and thats why most of us are here. But the point was he just wanted to know where it is?

The smell of blood is in the air....Oh wait that might be popcorn?

I guess that everyone misread my post as "what do you think of this car" rather than who ended up with this car. Lots of opinions but no answers for me.

  16. I've seen worse built / owned by members of this board. Cut him so slack. All he wants to know is who owns it / where it's at....

That body looks to be in good nick, loose the tacky rat rod crap (Ie, the rest of the car) and you are on your way to a half decent car.
I must say though no one jumped on him about this, just trashed the POS.

If your looking for it to try and buy, good luck but there is a fair bit of work to do.

Yes! Very ratty indeed! The current owner was at Mooneyes this year. I believe Brandy, here on the HAMB, might know the Guy's name. Look through the other Mooneyes photos to see if you can find the club he's associated with.

yes.the HAMB RAT ROD haters are out in force today, just as they should be. this place would be overrun with traditional rat rods if rat rods did not get the beatings and insults they deserve

Im trying to tune in to the magical impath forcess that make it possible to tell
its a piece of junk by one photo.
If you find the guy that owns it you'll most likely need to run after him because
it looks like its running, driving, smokin' tires and cruzing...thats a good thing.

Maybe the mailbox is because he lives in it/ sold all he owns to get it.:)

Ratrods, the new barn find starts for project cars.

It does have potential if you blew it apart and built it right. And after some drunks killed my mailbox I could use a new one that only needed a bit of patching.
Maybe someone can photoshop it into a real hotrod.

Raise the rear end up so that the belt line is even with the top of the tires, detail the engine and put on some finned valve covers and either a 3x2 or 2x4 intake with a set of correct air cleaners. The engine is exposed so it needs a smaller distributor this time around. Slick out the body enough so that it doesn't look like a washboard when you look down the sides (just repair an block sanding, no changes) and away you go with one very presentable and somewhat traditional rod.

Now, Rainman, why did you post a photo with no information such as where it was last seen, sold or who had it before unless you are trying to protect the guilty.

I love the bottle opener on the cowl post. So, does anyone know where the car is and or who owns it? Dude probably has rubber boogers in his hair after the smokey burnout!!!!

No little Brother, I do not know..........and if I did, you can bet that car would never have rolled out looking like that.

Because I'd of thwapped some sense into him. Why are we looking for this car? I hope not as a model to replicate.........there are far better specimens here on the hamb.

Umm, scrubline? You do know what a scrubline is don't you????

  30. This is just what I was thinking. The closest to ESP most people get is when they watch sports on cable TV, so a few clues might be in order. Otherwise, around here, you're pretty much just asking for it to be flamed into the ground.
