Two things make that just a little more rad then most.... the Olds engine and the Olds wheel covers. You just don't see enough hot rods with wheel covers on them.

  2. You are absolutely correct!( re: the wheelcovers) I was just annoying my wife about this the other day as I looked at one of my Weesner prints in the wall :).

It was at the Pate Swap Meet in Fort Worth, TX about 2 or 3 years ago too. I think Gasmonkey bought it out there and resold it. That was the last time I saw it.

Given the timeline, Gasmonkey might have sold it to the Ponzi scheme guy.

I always liked that car, from the first time I saw it at the 2nd Lonestar Roundup. Skinny Jeff and Jimmy did a really good job on it.

    Relax Jimmy,...
Just stating the obvious,... I, in no way, am disputing this being a cool original Hot Rod, but it looks like it got some upgrades along the way. Why did they replace the original dropped axle ?

What was so special about the original front axle? I can understand good parts being taken off cars to upgrade others, just would like to know what made it special.

I am relaxed, Sorry if I came off like a jerk, Its the internet and you cant really see my stupid facial expressions, and dumb hand gestures! I was just answering your statement. The axle was change because It was a nice original dropped axle, this was before so many people started dropping axles (Joe Casto, Industrial Ch***is etc.) Jeff knew he was going to sell the roadster and whoever bought it probably wouldnt care, about original or aftermarket. He wanted to preserve a really nice piece of hot rod history. That car was built into a hot rod in the I think the mid 50's. We found newspaper behind the door panels from 1949. If you go to the Circle City Hot Rod website and go to the gallery. and look under I think other hot rods there is a picture of it on a trailer when Jeff bought it. I think the only thing I didnt like about that car, was the hydrostick. It had a really neat orginal hot rod look to it.

Well I lost the rear driver side hub cap :( I did in fact pop it back on before I drove it and it felt solid but it couldnt with stand the harsh freeway pavement combined with the stiff suspension @ 50 mph... and it did indeed get ran the F over...guess im going hubcap shopping for anoher olds cap! The blow by coming out of the breather cap ended up all over the windshield and firewall so looks like I have something else to figure out there as well. I'll be calling you this week Jimmy to shoot the **** about this old girl.

Made any updates to this roadster? I remember it from the Lonestar Round Up 2003. It was one of my favorites!
