My vote is that it's the same car. Bobbed rear fenders, nerf bars, rear leafs, I'm convinced. Now the easy part is done. Good luck hunting.

I found the last pic in another thread here on the hamb. The pic is credited to:

"James "Cogo" Eads, from Killeen, TX."

    in this thread:

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=656268&page=12

Here's my observation.. In the 2nd pic it is low in front, probably by the use of a dropped axle. In the first pic, the radius rods or wishbone sits low relative to the wheel, (similar to the 2nd pics) saying to me that it probably still has the dropped axle, but has probably been raised up with a new spring or a spacer above it.. So, I would say the 2nd pic is earlier than the first (gas station) pics.

One other thing: Check the drag link angle in the lowered pic. Man that thing must have bump steered like crazy!

Judging from the trees in the background and the sky I would say Texas , but the longboard on the roof leads me to believe California ! I guess kiwi kev wasn't the first hotrod coupe to have a surf board strapped to the roof!

The pic is credited to Cogo Eads.

I googled the info posted above and found numerous ways to contact Mr Eades. If you want to do the same you might be able to get more info on the 2nd pic. I did put some info here, but began to feel like I was stalking Mr Eads.

He is out there in webland and very easy to find.

That's a cool pic. Definitely the same car, it's got the rarely seen American Lemans wheels on the front. I'm diggin Jim's Wynns jacket too.

  11. Mart , thanks for the help. i've checked out "Cogo" Eads website and that Hamb link on Texas cars and i'm still a bit confused..or maybe i'm a bit slow today...are we saying it is his car? is that him standing by it in the picture Thirtytwo posted? or just a picture he put on his website?

maybe my father wasn't in California when he took the picture

If you look closely at the pic Greg there is a long board on the roof... I doubt he was "hanging ten" in kileen Texas ... Just a guess , I would bet that car got turned into a vega boxed 4 bar'd 350/350 Easter egg sometime in the 80s

  14. Parallel leaf springs for sure and now I see that I'm really late on adding my input :)
