Hey, im working on a 52 victoria and I found a cheap 54 skyliner parts car that I might buy but the roof window is gone. I thought they were gl*** but through a hamb search I found they are plastic, so it seems like it would be fairly feasable that they would be reproduced.

Anyone know of a company that reproduces these tops? And im also wondering if there is someplace that repops the outer trim around the top insert (or it might not be too hard to find an OG set)?

Anyone ever grafted a gl*** top onto a 52-54 ford/merc? Im guessing its pretty straightforward cut, cut, swap, weld.

Pics of the car before I took posession.

There is somebody doing it but I can't tell you who. Check the Skyliner club for info.

I think it was Clark here on the HAMB that had a bubble top made for a car that he is building, maybe he can put you in touch with the guy that made it for him.

Get it reproduced and have a few extras made, I'm sure you wouldn't have much trouble selling the extras since most of the originals are pretty sad looking after all these years.

Look up Pollard Plastics in Dallas TX. Greg Menic was making them for somone about ten years ago. He should still have the tooling. I dont have his phone number but it will be area code 214.

They are reproduced, but someone on the HAMB had an extra one for sale not too long ago and the price was pretty good. I would have picked it up for myself if I didn't already have a good used one.

The trim pieces that are missing are basically irreplaceable. You'll NEVER buy a good used set, unless you buy a whole car to get them off of. I've tried a few times to sell my complete top setup but everyone just wants the trim. I won't part with it, eventually I'll find the right 2 door hardtop to put the roof on.

I think if you were creative you could make the roof trim from different windshield and rear window trim. It mounts inside the gasket like windshield trim does. The gaskets are availible new too. Keep in mind on your parts car that there is also inside trim and the visor bases are gl***top-specific. So is the upper door stainless, if you don't use yours from your parts car I'll buy it from you (says Skyliner instead of Victoria)

I love those gl***tops, that should be a totally worthwhile swap for your '52.
