Hot Rods Does anyone still make a decent American made distributor for a SBC?

    This would be my 2 cents also, using the points for a switch, ran cars like this for years. The Msd box comes with the two jumper wires that cross over the 4 connections on the coil to byp*** the box in case of a box failure. So if you carried a spare set of points and a condenser your all set. and really, a good ol matchbook cover will knock the ****** off the contacts if you leave your key on and weld the contacts together too right??

    Chris......I had GMC Bubba set up a Mallory YC distributor with a Pertronix setup and I use an external ballast going to a NAPA coil.....I also ran a wire from my ballast by-p*** on the starter solenoid to the coil to get a full 12 volts during start up. It's what Bubba recommended and it works very well for me. Hope that helps.
     
  3. My answer to the original questions is NO. I started buying up 90's and below Standard Ignition parts (caps, rotors, points, condensers) off of eBay years ago. Stamped "Made in U.S.A on them).
