Awesome work! You wouldn't think it would take that much work to go from a hemi to a hemi, but there really isn't much in common between the makes.

So, whatcha doing with that 330 DeSoto? ;)

Super nice DP!!! I used those same KB1 connecting rods in my 392. See you at Billetproof on Friday.

It sounds really awesome too... I heard it in person yesterday!

It makes you smile just looking at the car and then you start grinning when he fires it up.

    Way to go Dog Patch!

Hey man is your car going to be at Billet Proof this year? I hope so!

I only run power valves in the 2 center carbs. You divide the vacuum between them, so 2 x 3.5 = 7 inches of vacuum, which is about right. If you ran 6 power valves you would get 6 x 3.5 = 21. So the power valves would open at 21 inches of vacuum! I run plugs in the 4 outer carbs. The outer carbs have no idle bleeds either. They have 50 jets right now. I need to put the O2 sensor on and do some readings with all 6 open and see if it is lean. ****ster on the HAMB is the master of the multicarb setup he can give you better info than I can. I sort learn by doing it wrong a bunch of times first.:)

  9. Looking awesome Tony. Amazing what you can do in your little shack in the Georgia backwoods :D

Nice looking workbench too. Mine is spotless, under all my ****.

Looks damn fine Tony! Wish I could have stuck around awhile yesterday, but I had stuff to do on the way home that I needed to accomplish. Fuel prices getting high enough that I have to consolidate trips and errands on out of town stuff.
Real fine workmanship throughout, wish I had your talent and persistence. But more than anything I wish I had half the energy all you guys involved in that build/swap have.

Hmmm the LA dizzy is supposed to be a "drop in" only on the low deck Dodges, are you certain that it was fully engaged & not just adequately engaged, seeing how nothing tore up...

George - you are right - I stand corrected. I remember what I did now on the 330 Desoto - I had to shorten the shaft a little. I ground the end some and then ground the side steps on the shaft. Good catch.

Kevin - it runs way stronger than the Desoto. I hope to cut a second off at the track, which would put it at 12.5 in the 1/4. It weighs 2400 lbs so it should do that at least with the right driver :).

You should have had to lenthen either the Int. shaft or the dizzy shaft. If you needed to shorten the dizzy shaft someone may have put a longer shaft from a Chr hemi(2 lenths 331/354 & 392) in it.

Funny this pic comes up now. Been talking to 73RR about my compression being too low. These are ROSS off the shelf 9.5:1. I'd like to get to 10.5 or higher. Need to find the CC of a 555 head as this might be an option instead of a piston swap.
