...still exist? My father, Tom Medley, did a cartoon for their logo back in the early Fifties. This is the water-transfer decal (which was damaged but I repaired a scan via a photo editor. Would be fun to send to the current club, if it still exist. Thanks. Gary www.strokerbymedley.com
This may be of help. http://www.carshowjax.com/clubs.html Jax had a very big street rod group, but it may have disbanded. The graphic you posted is very cool, hope you find someone in that original club. BTW, big fan of your Dad's stuff of course like everyone. Just got a repop Go Kart T off the web. And I'm a big fan of Duffy's "184." Later, Gary
I have lived in Jacksonville, Fl since 1966 and am not familiar with the Roadster club. I founded the North Florida Street Rod Association in 1997, but that club disbanded last year after the 2014 Daytona Turkey Run. Most of our members had gotten way up in years and even our last two presidents died while in office. I am "only" 68, but I was one of the "younger" guys. Most of our members are just doing their own thing and attending shows and cruise-ins as individuals now. The Jacksonville Rod Runners are still around, but they allow pretty much anything into the club. The NFSRA was 1948 and earlier. Even with that rule, we still had members in many southeastern states and usually had between 75-90 members at the Turkey Run in November each year. I really miss the old group, but age and health has a way of catching up.
Where did you buy the Go-kart shirt? Badcock Jones? Thanks for the reply. You might want to check out: www.strokerbymedley.com, a site I have developed to keep my father's legacy alive!
I have a friend, Shorty Nuber, who was a member of the club. He said there were about a hundred Roadsters in the club. I think he has some pictures of them on the beach. I don't know where they all went. They sure are not around here now. I will try to call him tomorrow. Thanks, John.
