Chevy dealer Service Manager........nothing to do with the transportation industry at all. We do alot of warranty work for the "end user" of the product. I have about two more years until I retire......if I can make it that far.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I drove a fuel tanker in the SF bay area. Trying a new enterprise; appraising specialty cars.

  8. You betcha!

35 years in the truck tire business for the LAST AMERICAN OWNED rubber company (the one with the blimp).

I'm throwing in the towel this year, too much corporate BS and ignorant upper management have killed this company.

The good old days are long gone. Along with a decent retirement package. That really sucks:mad:

Yes, meat market/grocery it all comes to us by truck..A buddy of mine in S.Texas who is a pro trucker sent me an email awhile back and was warning his friends there is trouble brewin..Truckers in Texas, especially ones that are independant, are planning a protest this Spring, possibly around April 15th..to jam up on major Highways, park four abreast in empty trucks and just walk away from them..Independants,especially ones about to be foreclosed upon, are protesting fuel prices/NAFTA/financing rates, and are just going to walk away from thier trucks and let the banks figure out the mess..four empty trucks with locked brakes parked across IH35! What a mess!....

fuel prices/NAFTA/financing rates are just the tip of the iceberg. Between the government, insurance companies, lawyers, court systems, financing, and fuel prices the price to get anything shipped is about to skyrocket.

  16. HR for the local school board... The only thing that's transportation related is the buses, and I have nothing to do with that unless a bus driver needs help applying...

In fact, we are trying to get out of the transportation business as much as posible by implementing a new student assignment plan that helps kids going to schools in their own neighborhood... Parent survey's said that's what they want, so that's what they are getting.

We build/repair coal and petroleum barges. Mostly inland river stuff. Hot nasty work in the summer, cold & damp in the winter, but hey it's a living and it's cool to fab stuff out of things other than sheetmetal hehehe.

I get paid to sit around and study speed parts catalogs and write about the parts I see in there.

I'm a copywriter for Performance Parts.com a retail parts website like Summit or Jegs.
