My wife only enjoys going to the really big shows like goodguys. At the smaller shows she gets bored which I can understand. I also think she enjoys getting my son and I out of the house, so she just sends us on our way and enjoys the peace and quiet at home.

Mine is very tolerant of it. I've had some that weren't. And they all hit the bricks. Good riddance. I couldn't ask for better now, she's always asking questions, and she loves to learn out in the garage.

Most of the time, I Do My Thing, Wife Does Hers. She likes the 67-8 Camaros, 2 tone 54 Chevy Trucks, Woodies, (yes, the car too), and 32 and older Tudors, open tire no hood. As soon as the 38 is reliable then I will build an older Tudor. She goes to some shows, Rialto Run Watcha Brung, Rt 66 and Temecula Rod Run.

My wife likes it because I love it. She enjoys watching me race. She REALLY enjoys tagging along when I take it out and kick it in the ass! Wants to make a pass at the strip with me.

YES! She had a great time at Hershey back in 1977, and we've had a great time ever since, the kids love car events too. Gained a son in law in 2010 and he's a car nut too.

That is really, really, sad-and totally backward-I wouldn't trade the love of my life for all the cars in the world put together. Maybe your backward priorities are why you got that ultimatum in the first place?

She has delt with my shit for the last 15 years. But she has a downfall. Of all the cars in the world she loves the 70 Impalas. First pic is of her 1964 Impala wagon(she didn't tell me she hated it till it was done) The second is her 1st 70

I have a solution for yes or no problem. She likes that I'm building A coupe for her. She doesn't like the roadster ride where she gets cold and her hair messes up.
When younger she have had a Duster and second generation T-bird so I decided she needs a rod too. So I bought real basket case. I'm now allowed to do more time in garage and not rush it to be ready too soon. It may take a year or two more...just time to time show some progress or new part for it.

My ex never was that into it, like I said my ex. My current lady friend loves it and her first show was Lonestar. She can't wait to go back.

My wife has no real interest in it, is somewhat grudgingly supportive. Goes to shows occasionaly, I think she looks at it in terms of a nice day in the park, and the cars just happen to be parked there. At first she just didnt get it at all (she is from a different culture) after we went to a couple couple shows, and she started to meet other people that are into it, she decided I wasn't just some kind of nut, so she goes along with it now. She supports me working on it, and spending money on it, as long as I work on one at a time and dont go all automotive ADD on her. Actually, she is really helping me, she is the adult voice that counters the car guy voice in my head that wants to go off half-cocked dragging home every raggedy old shitbox I see. My current project is progressing much faster than cars in the past, because she wont let me touch anything else till I finish what I am working on now.

My girlfriend isn't "into it" but she's always down to go to any car events, cruises, etc with me. If i like it, she'll go and do it with me. That's all you can ask for i think.

Mine isn't really into it. She would probably be a little more if I had my truck to a highler level of quality completion. She doesn't like anything loud. She has been a little more understanding over the past couple of years about me being out there in the garage tho and scrounging parts. She didn't really grow up with anyone in her family doing this type of thing so she gets it honestly. God gave me a great gift in her and I'll still try to hang onto her tho. Priorities....

Maybe. Cars, yes. When you phrase a relationship as "teets or tires", you aren't really talking about love now,are you?
I challenge you to find one person, truly in love, who would take a car first.

My wife picks and choose's what she wants to tag along on, she's more of a warm weather gal. She loves that I love it because she knows where I'm at and what I'm doing... it's a prehistoric thing. But this year she announced that she wanted to go to Bonneville (think casino) so this ones really gonna cost.

I will say this. I have been in "love" a few times in my life, and they are all(with the exception of the latest one, who I finally actually got married to, and had a child with, that does change things) gone, but I have had my duster for 30 yrs. My wife, who has not been "in love" as many times as I have, says that I have had too much "experience" for my own good, and I am a cynic, and she may very well be right.
Whenever I have been faced with "its me or the cars" , I ask myself one simple question. How long is this relationship going to last, and how am I going to feel about this person, if every morning, when I roll over and see her face, my first thought is "hey, theres the b*tch who made me get rid of all my cars." I'm betting you can guess the answer.

  24. oh yeah.. she does.. wants to get into pinup modeling too.. just can't wait to get a car or van done so she has something to pose on...

My wife likes fast cars. When we got together my only transportation was the '56 F100 that is my avatar. The truck had a 1970 429 & top loader in it but she was able to drive it pretty well. She finally admitted to me that when I was out of town on jobs she raced a few sailors in it, and she never lost a race. She didn't tell me at first because she thought I'd be mad. Hell no, I was proud of her, she never lost! She's also supportive of me building another project as long as she can drive it sometimes.
No doubt she'll be out there helping me build it.
