I have a set of Dolphin cluster gauges for a 37 Ford. They fit the dash the way they should. My problem is with the senders.. I have a Holley Street Dominator intake on a 350 sbc. They sent with the kit a couple of brass fittings, and the temp sender its self. The brass fitting that should screw into the intake is to large.. Can I get a new fitting at a auto parts store?? The sender screws into that fitting.. My other problem is with the oild sender unit. It also is electric. It looks like a small tank. There is still a small fitting on the back of the engine where a manual tube may have been.. I can unscrew that fitting, but I am not so sure that that tank will even fit. The tank its self is to big. It will either hit on the intake, or be way to close to the distributor.. The instructions tat came with the gauges doesn't say anything about the sender units.. Thanks.. Al

Those gauges are pretty much the bottom of the barrel. I will NOT install them in a customer car at all. To many issues with them. You should be able to get any adapters you need from a decent parts store though.

I know I'm not helping but aren't those guages ugly and not ever work properly?

You just need to get an adapter fitting for the temp sender. For the oil, most often it needs a 1.8" inch pipe extention, then a 45 or 50 degree adapter.

Make sure you use a steel pipe and elbow for the oil sender, brass will break from vibration, don't ask how I know.

If I were to get other gauges.. ( not saying I will or not) What would be a gauge cluster to look for?? I need both the Volts,Fuel,Oil and a Speedometer both 5"..
Otherwise I will get the STEEL pipe fittings and elbow..

  7. Classic Instuments are good quality, or older SW's.

Just run the Dolphins, you already have them. They aren't the best quality, but MANY cars out there have them.

I like the looks of them.. That's why I bought them. Paid $225 for them. Like choppintops said.. I have them now.. I might as well use them.. I will check at NAPA for the parts that I need.. Al

Hi Al, So much for help with Dolphin gauges huh? Why ask a question here when all one gets is put downs? I know this is more than a year later but my Dolphin gauges have worked fine for longer than that and look fine too. I just put in a new gas tank and the fuel gauge is acting funny so I will go to a site that is helpful to people with questions regarding cars.

Whatever you do, dont ever let a dolphin anally penetrate you, it will kill you.
