Anyone have any pics of Don Audell"s Bucket built about the same time as Norm's? It was from the Northwest somewhere and he had a nice '37 Slantback.
I have no pics but he built that car eons ago and I think he still has it. The engine is a built Studebaker V-8 with cool speed parts. He redid the 37 flatback to sell so it is long gone.
I believe that his current ride is a '32 Ford Woodie. He still had the T in '06. You might try contacting him. He's out of Spokane. Does pinstriping. Don Audel Quality Brush Pinstriping 302 E 19TH AVE SPOKANE, WA 99203-2304 Phone: 509-624-0030
The car still exist although I haven't seen it in years. Your best bet is to contact Don and ask him any question you have about the car. I'll ask around to see if anyone has pictures I can scan of the T.
I've probably got a couple of faded snapshots from the late 70's or early 80's somewhere in the archives. I think it was in one of the Seattle or Tacoma car show programs from the mid 60's too.
Don's bucket was featured several years ago in one of the major rodding mags. I recall seeing that car up in Spokane many decades ago. There was also a feller names 'Speedy' Gunsaulis that ran a T-bucket with Corvette FI on it. Spokane has birthed many a great car person. That was the "holy grail" of hotrodding for those of us from the little podunk towns in eastern WA. We'd drive up there just to cruise "the Panda" on Division and Wellesly. That was back when Deer Park was the drag strip of choice. dj
Audel is one of the most precise detail oriented builders out there. Helluva striper as well. Here's his 32 Ford "woodie" .... flawless!
Don also built and may still own what is arguably the nicest 28-29 phaeton ever. Awesome builder but I personally think senility has crept in w/the woodie roadster.
I have some pictures of Audel's car PM me so I can find out what you're looking for. My dad was Speedy Gunsaulis the car he showed the most was a '32 roadster with a blown Y block john Spokane still is the "holy grail" of hotrodding
Greetings, Just wanted to see if anyone found any color photo's of Don Audell's 1915 bucket "T"? I remember seeing it at the Portland Roadster Show in the early 60's. Also I was told it was in some magazines in the past couple of years. Can anyone help me on this? Ransom Sanders, Beaverton, Oregon ransomsan@msn.com
