You dont get it! Its like the crack head who comes up to you on the street begging for money so he can get high. He's done nothing to benefit you, so why are you gonna give him something you worked hard for, for free?

Last time I had someone stripe on one of my cars, I paid $80 for 2 pieces over the headlights. They were good work, and took the guy about a half hour. Your name is better well known that that guy, and you need to beg for free parts?

You even seem to be getting frustrated that people arnt willing to just start sending the parts that you want for free.

Most of the time when someone needs something that they cant afford, they find a way to fund their project by earning something. Why dont you go stripe some pannels, and offer them for trade for parts.

 

But you dont seem to want to build a charity car, you said it yourself, you wanna build a car for you!!!

If he is so freaking special he should have no problem getting parts from his big shot buddies.
I got a great idea lets raise some money for Tom Cruise so he could build something cool just so we all could be a part of it.
I dont think anyone on here has problems with helping people but usually you know the person.
Also I dont think anyone would have a problem donating some parts if thye new the truck would be sold and donated to a worthy cause but donating parts and **** just so this guy can get in the magazines?
How many people on her build thier own cars without donations. I dont see the point he is trying to make.

If he would take some time and organize and present his idea a better way then maybe we are all wrong and this guys intentions are pure then there should be no problem with what he is trying to do.

If he is asking for parts no one is going to use and just sitting on the side of the house i see no problem. he just need to eexplain what wants more clearly.

Skratch, your problem is you don't have any buddies here. If you did, then you'd get freebies. You're instead asking everyone for donations and unless it's ***led by a charity orginization and will be auctioned off in the end with all proceeds given to charity or donated to something else like the HAMB here, forget it.

Man earlier when you said "trust me" I had to laugh like you had just told a ****in joke. No one is going to trust you.

Do what 4T4DR said, save up and do it your ****in self.

Friends help friends, yes, you got that right, but friends don't help friends that don't help themselves. You can't walk around with your ****in hand out all the time. You dig in and work hard and never plan on anyone helping you and you'd be surprised how much help you actually receive.

Well big daddy I don't think you understand we never said he screwed anyone over, and he did NOT originally ask for help he asked for parts for himself and just so you know you could'nt carry my balls and I have balls. we all ask friends for help at one time or another. But to ask for a list of parts is a little crazy so you can build yourself a project.. So why don't youSHUT THE HELL UP!

In my experience, car guys are EXTREMELY generous with their time, money, and parts when it comes to a good cause.

I think the idea of a HAMB built vehicle with people from across the US donating time/materials is a great idea, and I think it would get overhwhelming support if it was for a good cause, to support the HAMB, raffled off to a lucky person that donated a part, etc.

This post is getting way out of hand...

Skratch has been around since the good old days and those who have been here a while know that we lost a huge chunk of posts when we went to the new board. So you all can s**** the post count comments. They don't mean a thing.

I think the delivery on this post could have been a little slicker but all he's doing is asking for help. Help comes in many forms.

If a guy has parts he's tripping over and believes in Skratch enough to give them up then that's between them.

If you don't believe in it or want to help than that's cool to.

The rest of the **** in this thread is not cool.

Some of you need to learn some respect.

 

i'm down.some donates a part they can get free tickets or some like that.****.i didn't thinkit was going to be a big deal.normally you ask for some thing on the hamb.everyone more than generous.i hought i could throw thw truck to gether drive to the round up and raffle it the next year or some ****.no,entension of ****ing anyone out of there SPARE parts that they're not going to use.

I will say this for skratch. I called him about some stripe work. He told me about another HAMBer that did stripes that was closer to me. He was trying to make it easier for me and not worried about losing the job and money. I didnt ask for the information he just gave it to me. I'm still going to have skratch do it. I appreaciated the help. Hes a awesome artist.

I'm staying out of this subject. Just thought i'd share my experience with the guy....he did try to give 500 worth of stripe work to another HAMBER. I'm going to have alot of stripe work done all over the car

 

I hate to ***ume, but you seem like your rationalizing skratch's plan. The biggest issue is that Skratch wants the car for himself. In fact, when he was questioned as to who the car was going too, he states: "since it is my truck.i thought i would it up with it."(thats his language use, not mine). He doesnt seem to even think twice about the idea of a ton of donated parts going towards a project that would benefit someone in need. The guy has balls, I'll give him that!

A raffle to go to a guy who donated parts? Support the HAMB? Dont get me wrong, I have no problem supporting the HAMB, and there are plenty of people who do (any current stats on the number of alliance members?), but if the car were auctioned off, for the ammount of money a car would sell for, it belongs in the hands of a charity (ie. childrens cancer fund or similar).

it sounds like a good idea to me if you are going to raffle it off. i am behind you and anybody else that is willing to do something like this for charity. but i think you should have had more details ironed out before you posted this. if you already had all the details to post like, which charity, a date that the raffle would be held,how to buy a ticket, ect. you more than likely would have had nothing but positives posts and a lot more parts on there way to you. if you post this info i am sure that all the people giving you a hard time would be behind your plan. i do understand what they are saying. in your first couple of posts in this thread it did sound as if this was just to benifit you. i dont have alot of extra parts left because i have had to sell them in the last two months due to some unfortunite(sp?) cir***stances, some of you know what i am talking about. anyway, if you let us know more info i will send you a list of what i have left and you are more than welcome to any/all of it.

Dude I'm just a very vulgar person. I'm not going to hold your hand and tell you what you're asking for is wrong. You might be an alright fella, we've all been guilty of **** ups now and again.. some more than others. Your **** up was providing a shopping list with your hand out.
