I,m in England and have had parts from Donny with no problems. His stuff is 1st cl*** and no problems with delivery or contacting him.Just my experience.
Well, shockingly, I finally got my parts from him. Unfortunately they were a year past when he promised them. The only parts I still had the possibility to use were the door supports I ordered, and they didn't fit worth anything so we had to cut them up to make them work--- obviously not very useful. I no longer needed the other parts, so I gave them away. Steer clear of this guy at all cost. There's a reason he is so hard to get in touch with......
Funny thing I've noticed in the past 20 or so years... Whenever anyone gets called out repeatedly on the H.A.M.B. - whether it be a person or even a large company - for bad business practices, it's always the fault of the H.A.M.B. or it's because the H.A.M.B. is chock full of **** munchers of some kind. And yet, in almost every case those getting called out end up with a business in the gutter and the H.A.M.B. is still here... chugging along... merrily... Here's the thing. There are plenty of talented people in the world. And there plenty of people that have the potential to be talented... But at the end of the day, if those people don't have the work ethic or the moral grounds to do honest business, it just doesn't matter. Thankfully, the hot rod world is chock full of good, honest, and talented people... and they always rise to the top given persistence and patience.
Ryan, I think in a roundabout way the HAMB posts re. bad business dealings makes some lost purchases get fulfilled. There's been several threads on the HAMB where someone calls out an individual or business for not fullfilling an order then suddenly the parts come through. I believe they read about themselves or a HAMB reading friend gives them the tip that they're being called out. Like the 'bad seller' list, the HAMB helps a guy get a refund or his parts...
I'm sure that's the case... In fact, I can think of a couple of verified instances of this. To me, the best example of how to handle forum feedback is Coker. Obviously, they are big supporters of the site and Corky is a really close pal of mine... But given that, they have NEVER emailed and asked me to remove a post or close a thread even though there are plenty examples of negative feedback on the HAMB. Instead, they simply address each issue as best they can within a business sense and do whatever they can within reason to keep the offended happy. In the end, I think they have won a ton of business through doing that. Of course, on the other end of the spectrum it's also important to understand that sometimes **** just happens. I'm a perfect example. I've had a really tough 18 months personally. As such, there have been weeks where I haven't gotten any merch out. When that happens, I send out emails offering refunds and explaining the situation as best I can. Luckily, my customers are usually also my buddies... So I haven't had any real CS issues to speak of. Anyway, point is... Sometimes bad feedback can't be avoided... Sometimes **** goes wrong. For the most part, people are reasonable... Just be open and honest and do your best to make things right.
Yes. I've been on the ragged edge of things with the Aero Disc and Lyons wheelcovers before. You can feel it coming. I've never had a return and never had to give a refund, but I have been a bit late to ship a few times, explained the situation then offered the option of a refund. People are really understanding when you just man-up and keep them informed.
I am glad to hear you got your parts. The internet is useful toy to put pressure on these guy who has bad business practice. It shame that it took year to get your parts, glad it work out. There was guy on Fordbarn that was screw people over carbs. He got take off the site.
