Back when I posted the thread of digging out the 31 Cabriolet hot rod, this little car some of you spotted in the background caused a bit of a thread hi-jack. Well, we dug it out the other day. Yes, there are some other neat things you'll see in these pictures but none of it is for sale. And no, I won't tell you where the yard is located. Enjoy these pictures and please feel free to contribute any shots you may have of similar early sports cars.
Last time I got bitched out for "not posting properly". Apparently you either have to give out coordinates or a get lost disclaimer right up front or your PM box will fill with hate.
That's a nice little car right there. Wish I had any to ad, except that's awesome. Can one expect a build threat? Because that would be epic!
I had one like that many years ago. Mine was identical, except for that monstrosity on the hood. Never see anything like that on one of my cars. Send me the serial number and I will tell you if it is mine.
Yup, I know where it is too, and ya aint gettin' it out of me no way no how! My spell check just lost it's mind....
Very cool score, congrats! Would be worth contacting Geoff Hacker at Forgotten Fiberglass. What you have is the roadster version of the Allied/Atlas sport car. Bill Burke coaxed George Barris to help take a mould of Robert Petersen's Cisitalia which was at Barris Kustoms for detailing ready for the Petersen Motorama. I suppose the cat is somewhat out of the bag. This was just posted on Forgotten Fiberglass. http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com/...ques/allied-cisitalia-kurtiskraft-chassis-20/
Will this mean there will be a build threat? Or will it mean no build threat? I went a little round on that side, read about a car that had Mickey Thomson, Bill Burke and George Barris involved, and there was a HRM article too with some different muscle cars, a black Roadster and a Mickey Thomson race car, going up for auction, awesome car! A guy called @Billy McGuire, is he a HAMBer? Or are does there happen to be two, in to Hot Rods?
Hi Gang... I've been working with the owner of this car and several other mystery cars he has to identify each and share the stories and histories of them too. We're already on the search for the original owner of this car that may be New Mexico based, California, or other. You can read more here about this car: http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com/...ques/allied-cisitalia-kurtiskraft-chassis-20/ And...a similar one on a Kurtis chassis is coming up for auction which is very cool. You can read about this car and other Allied sports, race, and hot rod cars on our "Allied/Atlas" category on Forgotten Fiberglass here: http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com/...-marques/allied-atlas-fiberglass-car-marques/ And for those of you who really want to stay in tune with our finds and history, feel free to sign up for our newsletter on the following link: http://forgottenfiberglass.us6.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=55b1654c6f7e3de70d02c0bda&id=ad9445a3fb Great stories Nick! Keep 'em coming and as we often say at Forgotten Fiberglass.... Glass on gang.... Geoff Hacker Forgotten Fiberglass Tampa, Florida
Thank you Geoff for looking into the car. I know Dave really appreciates it! The pictures we've posted are some of the ones you shared on your site. It'll be a fun project to get back on the road. And yes Volvobryk.... there will be a build thread.
