If I read this correctly, the guy in the truk was drunk and caused that accident...correct? If so, sue his ass and the compamy he was driving the truk for for the damages...and your two friend's families can sue for wrongful deaths. If it were you that was drunk...all I can say is you have my sympathies. R-
yes, cuz we all know, money makes everything better. sorry to hear the news tim, things will get better trey
Jesus Christ... Tim, I'm sorry man... that sucks... In all honesty I can say that I've tried the same stupid shit before, luckily without consequence... but instances like this make me think a bit more clearly about it... I've sucked it up before and called for a ride home several times... I couldn't imaging living through an error like that, one that cost the lives of two friends, one that was at my fault. Crummy situation... I'm sorry again.
lol sure said fuckin alot on that lol yeah one car accident in the middle of no were, sioux city paper jordan and richard if your lookin at it already this sux on so many levels tim
If I read this right... Your parts guy was drunk and gave your 2 friends a ride home in his truck, he drove it into a ditch and all but your parts guy died. My sympathies go out to you and your friends' families Tim, It's gonna be a while before you feel right, it's gonna be rough, but you have to remember, you will be OK, just not anytime soon. Stay strong.
Sorry to hear about your friends. They were likely as Drunk as he was though or they wouldn't have got in the truck with him. Lawsuits, yeah. Thats the American way isn't it... Lets just sue the shit out of everybody so the Insurance Companys can gouge us for more and more money, while the bottom feeding Lawyers are the only ones that come out on top.
yeah they probably were, still preety gay. lol were all broke sueing anybody over here isnt going to get you anything but lawyer fees.
Tim,... I'm sorry for your loss of good friends and parts, but I'm glad you posted the info, maybe,..just maybe it will make someone else think twice before driving intoxicated tonight. Glenn (X-Iowa'n)
I lost a friend several years ago because he was riding with one of his Drunk buddies. Sucks that he died, but he was just as drunk as the guy that was driving.
Tim, sorry to hear about this. I haven't lost any close friends yet, but I sure had to fight with some to get the keys. Whether the other two were drunk or not I don't think matters at all. The parts guy took the wheel he is responsible for the other two. Just cause a guys drunk doesn't always mean he is to blame for getting hurt or killed. Hang in there Tim and spread the word, maybe you can convince others to be more careful.
I am sorry for you Tim, You just can't believe how many people get killed with this every year. I spent 10 years on the fire and rescue and every death was associated with either drugs or alcohol. Guys, please don't get into a car after a few beers. Take it from a father who lost his son to drunk driving. Most mistakes can be righted in your lifetime. You can't make up for this mistake.
sorry to hear that tim. whatcha need for that big old box of yours? maybe "we" can help. and lets not be to hard on the driver, i'm sure that too many of us reading this have at one time or another, taken the shitty responsibility of being the "least drunk" and hauled your more tanked friends home. and KNOWN you were taking a risk but it "had" to be done. and everybody in that car assumes at least some of the risk. besides, say you, one dude, is out boozing with three fine assed chicks, who are all tanked. and they want to go somewhere, and they ARE going, with you or without you, they are to drunk to drive, what do you do? remember now, you are in the middle of BFE in the middle of the night, no such thing as a cab! not a tough decision for most "men" in said situation, but one you'll see the error of later. some got lucky and can look back and see how lucky they were, others, well.... again sorry tim, and let me know if we need to work around anything re: our plans.
tim, i'm so sorry for this loss. i felt compelled to read the obits before replying so i could get some kind of insight into who these men are/were. there are a lot of hard times ahead for all the family and friends of these two (and the driver, too). i hope it will help some for you to know that there are many on this forum who will be thinking of and praying for you and all these guys' family/friends. some will come on here and say so but many more will do so without making a reply here. wish there was more i could do to help.
thanx guys, ray, plans are fine as is. i know its gota be tearin him up-guy who was driving- but still preety pissed. this is hard core fucking my head up. jordan had to be the best example of a good kid you could ever even imagin, just got ingauged, big "jesus freak" built choppers, everything. even did my first motor swap in his old truck. i guess if anything i hope people think a little bit more next time, i undersatnd the no cab stories and what not but dam. later tim
My condolences too... And on that sueing and money thing... its sick. When my half brother got killed in a similar accident by his drink buddy, my side of the family couldn't think of touching the $ the other family somehow squeezed outta the guy, or his family. I think we had them give it to MADD or something... The guy's life was a wreck to begin with, prolly why he was hanging out with my brother... he may be still in jail after all these years... he has to live with what he did. I kinda think thats all punishment enough. Money aint gonna bring my brother back... I think lawsuits for gross negligence are one thing, but suing someone for being a fuck-up and fucking up? Some people can't help it... they have my pity, financially brutalizing them isn't gonna make em any better people.
Sorry for your loss and the loss of all thier friends and family. It's rough spot to be in, many of us have been there. Work through it and don't forget your own advice. TZ
That really sucks. I'm thankful that I got a DWI about 8 or 9 years ago, learned an easy lesson. I feel bad for everyone invloved.
I'm sorry for your loss as well... I think alot of us can relate to the situation... Personally, I have decided to learn from other's mistakes... I don't drive when I'm fucked up, not even a little bit... There's too much at risk to myself and others... [ QUOTE ] I think lawsuits for gross negligence are one thing, but suing someone for being a fuck-up and fucking up? [/ QUOTE ] and burndup, while I'm not a big fan of 'sueing' either, don't you think driving while drunk IS gross negligence..?? come on now... later, Snacks...
That's terrible news. My heartfelt condolences to you and your friend's friends and familys. Don't drink and drive.
Tim, man I'm sorry bout yer friends. I know how bad that sucks. Especially when there's a bunch of em gettin it around the same time. Makes it hard on a guy who's left standin without his fallen friends. And aint it the way that the calmer occupant, the drunk, survives. His Hell may not be over yet, whether the lawyers get theirs or not, he might never be the same guy you knew. I've learned that one from the sidelines too. Just be thankful that you weren't there for that ride and carry on as best ya can till ya get on track again. Ya might even be able to get them parts from family or landlord who may evict your still living bud as they were promised, you can state as 'owed'. Know it sounds a little cold, but I was the shmuck who lost out in other ways than death or permanent disability a few times too. Greive while ya gotta and do whatcha need ta.
