I'm sitting rocking my nephew Henry this morning instead of working because Henry's dad Justin... who is 26... was hit by a driver going the wrong way on the highway. My dad just got off the phone with the Trooper who was there and he wouldn't confirm that the other driver was drunk, but he said the smell was there and the district attourney will probably be filing charges soon. Justin had a piece of his skull removed to relieve pressure.. they don't know if he'll make it. Pray for us, and please don't drink and drive.
God damn it, when is this gonna stop, my daughter just attended a funeral of one of her best friends last week, 24 yr old girl who was hit by a drunk. It should be treated by the courts as Murder not just manslaughter. All the pain they cause because of their selfish behavior. I'm sorry for what you're going through, my prayers are with you.
I had a pal die that way, only he was the idiot that was drunk. Unfortunately he also killed the lady in the other car and his family is des***ute now. Remember, if you go out drinking it ain't just you that will be affected.
I've been thru this kinda thing before,,,,,,my pregnant daughter was on her way to my fathers funeral and was hit head on by a woman that was stoned outta her mind and crossing the center lane,, The car caught fire with my granddaughter and daughter still t****d inside,,,,,the woman that hit her ran,,,,,,,didn't try to help! The silver lining,,,was a gentleman that I know happened along and got my daughter and granddaughter out before the car burst into a raging fire. My daughter suffered serious head trama,,,,requiring major cosmetic surgery,,,many many stiches,,,broken ankle and a lot of cuts and bruses,,,,,my granddaughter was unharmed,,,thanks to seat belts and the kindness of strangers,,,,, They had to wait until my grandson was born before they repaired her ankle removing bone from her hip,,,, All this happened in 2000,,and today everybody is better,,,,my daughter still has a few personality issues,,,,you can't split a head open without some problems,,,,but thank God,,,we still have her. You got it Nate. Same thing happened to me. Hit in the rear at 50mph (the guy was pretty drunk) while I was at a red light. I was lucky, I walked away. Your family has my prayers.
If your gonna go out drinking its much cheaper in the end to take a cab. Man I hope everything turns out ok in the end.

Remember these stories the next time you sit on a jury involving a DWI/DUI. Drunk drivers are hard to change, so just lock 'em up. An inexcusable crime that we far too often let slide.
Hold that boy tight. Prayers going up. My college room mate found out how smart he was drunk driving one night. Took hours to cut what was left of him out of his car. Closed casket. Still think about it alot.
I'll be praying for Greta and Henry, and the rest of the family. It has hit too close to home before. J.
