The black and silver 48 belongs to a friend and the other is mine. Been driving it for 20 years and over 85,000 km. It's has a 327 and Nova front suspension, rear end and springs. It's a 47 with a 46 grille.

    Getting closer!
Opened up an opening in my bumper that will be all welded up clean but will scoop up some fresh air to feed radiator i made the cuts to match the angle and width of the grille inserts.

Theres a scoop i built into and welded to the bottom of the new fabbed up valance that i made shorter when i flipped the bumpers and moved them closer to the body!

I'm hittin it hard and heavy over this winter, but still undecided what to do for all the runnin gear.. I like the looks of the 6 but the power of a v8.. So im kinda in between a rock and a hard spot!!

Love the photos of your 40's Chevys guys. I started a social group currently call 46 47 48 Chevys. Might be a good place to gather and exchange all our ideas and hopefully you will post some of your photos there too. I'd love to see more of your cars. I was reminded I should include the 41 and 42 Chevys as well. I didn't mean to exclude those years. Give it a look and join it if you would please. Have a great week.

This is my first post but here are a few pictures of my 47 Chevy Coupe. The car belonged to my wife's Grandfather and when he passed away a few years back my Father in law gave it to me. I haven't really done very much with it since I have owned it as I have been working on other projects but I would like to start on it some time in the near future. I think the direction I would like to go is just a traditional street rod. I built a 39 Ford Coupe back in the late 80's and my wife & I always enjoyed that car so I would like to do something similar with this one. What is everyone using for front suspension? My Father in law had rebuilt the stock suspension on this car some years back and it does drive pretty nice but I would prefer to go with something more modern.

Anyway here are a few pictures of the old girl, It looks much better in the pics than it really is, but it's still a pretty nice little car. In the last pic I swapped on a couple of rally wheels form one of my Camaros just to see how it would look. The car has a nova rear end under it and the front spindles are 5 lug so I am assuming my father in law swapped them at one time or another but he says he doest remember doing it.

I had a super nice '48 two door sedan about ten years ago. Original paint, original interior and even the clock still ticked. It was a bit too slow to drive safely around downtown Phoenix where I live, and I have always been more of a coupe and pick up kinda guy. Long story short, the girl I was dating at the time was in the final stages of "baby crazy" (like if we had one tomorrow...) and noticed it was the only car in the fleet with a back seat to put baby seats in, so it went down the road just days after this was noticed. She went down the road not too long there after! Sure miss the car though...

Buffalo enterprises also has lots of good stuff. Dropped spindles, tranny adapters, shock mounts, and more. Good quality stuff. He is a really talented fabricator/machinist
