dude! I was expecting ya to post a shot with just the chrome wheels and whitewalls and that's it!

Looks like an entirely different car! Thank GOD you changed those painted side mirrors!

Maybe you can sell the interior and put in something less fancy?

Flame job looks very well executed! Nice job man!

EDIT: I'm not you, but I would remove the nose emblem and those parking lights/turn signals above the grille as well. That's just me though, looks great as is!

Thanks Tim for posting the side shot from the Spin-Out. My digital camera has mysteriously vanished. It had all the latest shots of the finished striping with the eyeball on the trunk. Still tweeking on the car, Got rid of the LED tail lights for a pair of 50 Buick's, Don't know if I will have the dump tubes in by Columbus, a good friend is going to fab up some nerf bars for the front and rear, interior is the next thing to go. Found a set of stock seats, front and rear locally, as soon as I sell the interior, or at least most of it, they are going in, thinking black carpet with white rolls and pleats, maybe some red piping. also changing the guages from the white VDO's to black Mooneyes or SW's. Guage panel will also get changed to a custom enginturned version. Still not done with the engine compartment either. Just sold the Billet covers, cleaner, looms and rad. hose yesterday, Caddy air cleaner is supposed to be ready for Columbus but no guarentees.

The guy who striped the car is called Hitch, is been arround for years and Grumpy turned me on to him, talented and reasonable. I showed him a picture that I got of the "show me your kustoms" thread on here and let him go at it. The flames are PPG metal flake, Silver Star.

I have owned this car for 16 years. 6 years for the original build and 10 as a plane jane'r. And its all because of the HAMB, Grumpy and a good friend who originaly got me all "chubby" about traditional cars. My 54 Chevy Truck, also from Grumpy, will be next.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Columbus, If you see my car, stop and introduce your self and have a cold one.

Flames are PPG Silver Star Metal Flake and the clear is over everything but has not been buffed yet. The only pic's I could post were before clear and striping. I haven't found my digital camer, dissapeared mysteriouly, it had more recent pic's.

looks great. I wonder if a nice thin blade front bumper would help. mounted low to fill some space between ground and area below grill...

    Boones,
I have another panel that mounts below the grill that does not have the bumper mounting holes filled. It just needs painted, also can locate a front bumper, splash panel and brackets from 47 Ford. Its the rear that I would have to do some major body work to put the bumpers back on, so ideas in that area from any one would be appreciated. Think nerfs front and rear would still look cool

Your car is on fire...COOOOLLLL!!!! :D

  12. That has to be the best 42 I've ever seen (except for those cool olive drab ones that had stars painted on them).

As soon as I saw the 3/4 front view I said, "Needs Nerf Bars". Great minds think alike.

It must be the combination of colors that make this 42 look far less "bulky" than most. Alongside that red and white Chevy(?) it looks very compact.

    Really nicely done.

  13. Push bars or nerfs?

I'm driving my wife's '37 "street rod" to Columbus this year so I hope I do "just blend in" and no one will recognize me (at least while I'm driving the car). Be sure to bring it to the "meet and greet" I'd love to see it in person. If not It looks like I might be able to spot it anyway:rolleyes: :D

By the way, the red and white car next to mine is a 40's Buick Ambulance, so most any car would look compact next to it, It runs a 455 and he tows a trailer with it, goes all over the country. Som Bitch is loooooooong.
