    folks,
i asked a long time ago about removing the door handle on my 41 chevy. Like everything, i keep putting it off.

I read the posts from the first time and still no luck

There does not seem to be any pins, clips, or screws holding the handle on.

peaking in the door i can see that the handle goes into this barrel, but no clip or screw.

on the outside of the handle i cannot find any clip or pin between the handle and the stainless steel trim.

I open the door and i see a small screw that when turned seems to adjust the tension on the door handle.

Anyone who has done this. i don't want to force anything and damage the trim.

I know it seems like a stupid question, but i have had a few people come over and look at it with no luck.

Help please, i want to continue to get her ready for body and paint.

On the trucks there is a bolt head or screw on the inside of the door, that screws into the door handle. Remove this bolt, and the door handle will pull out. It may take some effort because of rust, soak it with PB blaster first. You should be able to remove this without taking off the inner door panel. Note this is on a truck, I'm just assuming a car is similar.

That does not adjust the tension, that removes the handle. As you turn it move the handle up and down just a bit to align the screw with the hole and it will come out and the handle can then be removed with a slight bit of pressure. Ice man
