I've been having a dog fight to get the gap around my doors and front fenders to suit me. I had previously though my door hinges (2 door car) were ok. Now I've decided the hinge pins may have to much play, even though lifting up on the doors doesn't display that much slack. So my question is, how hard are they to refurbish and the best place to get pins and bushings if any. I really hate to pull my doors off and risk damaging the paint, should have done this before I painted the car. Ralph
I will offer this tid bit of advice,I ended up using washers behind different points of the hinge on the wagon to space it up or down, after several variations I got the gap pretty good. HRP
Pins are available but the ones I got are not heat treated so if used much, won't last long.. I'll add to, to adjust the door, take the strike plate off first so the latch doesn't interfere with the natural swing of the door.. Deal with one issue at a time (up and down) or (in and out)
Not sure about your year, but '57's have replaceable bushings (bronze). I replaced all the bushings and pins with stuff I found in the "help" section at O'Reilly's.
