I am hoping someone can help me identify this latch. A friend who was a great Hot Rod Builder used these on many of his builds. Problem is all I can recall is that they came off a Chrysler product. We combed "Swain's" salvage yard here in Northern Michigan where we have got them before with our friend but are unable to find more or identify what they came off of. Our friend p***ed away a few years ago and we miss his talent and teaching us many little tricks of the trade. I am including a few pictures hoping someone here can help identify these. Now I know about Bear Claw latches but I believe these are much cleaner and also more affordable. I have searched here and other places on the web and have been unable to find anything like it. If there is a thread here or elsewhere that identifies this latch, please share it with me! Thank You everyone in advance!
Looks like the stamping reads KIEKERT. They are still in the door latch business. The history page on their site only goes back to 1974, but the company is older than that. Are there any other markings?
I would agree, it is a Dodge Omni or a Plymouth Horizon. They both used the same latch. If you Google "Dodge Omni door latch" and click images, pictures of the latch you show will appear. Hope this helps.
