Ok, i was going to order some 32 door handles from Drake but they dont have a lock in them. I think the 33-34s do so i might get those.

But my question is, in.......say the 50's 60's.....did they have locks on cars like 32 fords? Did they have any need to lock there doors? If so, how did they lock them if the handles dont have locks? Or did 32's have locks on them at all?
    Thank you

The lock was in the door on the pass side. You locked the drivers door by sliding across the seat and reaching back to lift up on the inside drivers door handle. Then lock the pass door with a key from the outside. It was concidered dangerous to exit on the drivers side into traffic. [IMG] A real PITA

I understand that Drake now sells nonoriginal 32 outside handles with an integral key so that either door can be unlocked from the outside. If you have an old catalog like mine they won't be in there. Ask about them when you order.

  4. I built a 32 three window for a guy a couple of years ago and he had locking handles for both sides.
