Hot Rods door panel fastening clips

    well this is the way I ended up doing the door panels just the way 56premiere said.

    screw the panel to the door and leave enough room to pull it back to see the holes where the clips go.. size up the hole with some precision measurments to where it should be drilled , pre drill holes with a tiny drill bit and worked my way up to the size needed for the plastic christmas tree clips. It worked out great ! so both door backer boards are ready to be covered. . have to work on the rear boards now.

    that is a good idea about cutting out a little piece off the top to remove christmas tree fastener is need be. i will do that .

    I got my black backer board from the trim shop that did my seats . I think you can buy it on the internet also.

    I don't use anything but the black ABS. It comes in 4x8 sheets and I have been paying around $50 for the 1/8". I love how it takes the curves and bends. Down side is that you can't sew through it. The arm rest was made of wood with the ABS on the top piece.
