After reading a HAMB thread today, some posters mentioned odd ball door prizes they had won at rodding events. That reminded me of a door prize experience I had. Every year a resident in Louisville Kentucky on the Friday night during the NSRA Nats hosts a large party at his home. Unbelievable food, lots of fun along with a bunch of door prizes. Every year Boyd Coddington, attended and provided many of the door prizes. The prizes consisted of things like clocks, signs and other Coddington paraphenalia. Good stuff but never won by yours truly. The Grand Prize however was always a set of Boyd wheels probably worth in the $2,000.00 - $3,000.00 range. With my luck I used to win such things as car polish, wheel cleaner and the like but never the coveted Boyd Wheels. The year after Boyd passed away, guess who won the Grand Prize? Me, I still have it today. Its an LED drop light. A dollar short and year late. Gary
