Technical Dot 3 4 or 5 Brake fluid ?

1. I have always heard that DOT-5 will not strip paint should your flares not hold (see recent threads on this subject)
2. Being Silicone it does not absorb water (PNW...even our air is mostly water)
3. It does absorb more air than DOT-3 or DOT-4
4. it is more compressible (is that a word?)

I will be installing my system this winter and plan on using DOT-5 for the first time, guess I'll find out for myself.
