Fun article J.The C dragster is beautiful in it's simplicity of purpose! I can remember picking up each issue ofR&C after school at the variety store in Englewood, NJ while waiting for the bus after school it was a happy moment each month.
King's is a true resource on any conceivable subject, and has periodicals going back to...not the 1940s, but the 1840s. Yes they have copies of "Horseless Age" there as well as "Carriage Monthly" and "The Reach" which reported on them new fangled autos in the 1800s.

Thanks for posting this Double Feature. These are two of the cars that I watched race at Niagara Dragstrip in the early to mid 60's. The Mayflower car was yellow and the dragster was metal flake green. I remember that article in Rod & Custom and it was cool to see local cars featured. Oh, I always had a copy of some rod magazine in my notebook at school, too.
There is something about the smell of musty magazines,, kinda like the smell of a car that has been drug out of a a shed or barn after a 20 year slumber,,, Electrons will never give the full; smell, taste, and joy of history,,,,,,
HOLY ****!!!!!! I have been searching for more pics of this FED for a month now after finding an old car show shot at a Buffalo Autorama. Growing up in Buffalo, I lived down the street from the Green Clutch Artist clubhouse on William St. and that's what my father pointed to when explaining what a Hot Rod was. There's not much old history on the net about what cars they had but I knew they had an FED and there it is!!! So rad to see both of those cars. I'd give my left nut and all of my cars to own either one because of the Buffalo Tie. I need that BOOK!
