    So I saw an article in The Little Pages Tech Archive about using two top grill shells to make an opening with one shell inverted, similar to the whole Studebaker thing on The Kopper Kart, etc. Their example was a '53 Ford, and I thought it looked nice. I could also almost swear it was the same kinda treatment that Moonglow got for the later versions. So I was curious, anyone ever do it with a '54 Chevy grill? I was thinking about just getting another top grill piece, inverting it and then either ****ing it up or adding a few inches between it and the top piece and then making some filler pieces from the bottom grill piece to the splash pan.

    I know the stock park lights would be out of the question, but I was just wondering what everyone else thought. I know it'd be similar to a '53 grill, but it'd be more boxy and more different, and as with most kustoms, different is interesting and/or BETTER! :D

    Why would I want such a drastic change? Well, I've had the car awhile with little change done to it, and I want to kustomize it more, I just wanted to hear some seasoned veterans thoughts on the matter. Pics coming to hopefully help! Thanks!

    I like the idea , I thank it would look good to trim the ends of the park lights and narrow the grill to fit in the opening . This would still give you the look of the stock grill but still have a different look ? Add more teeth to the grill ;

    Since you're showing the Studebaker pans, I've always liked this one. '58 Buick grille.

    That looks exactly like someone at the dentist with those things that pull your lips and cheeks apart so they can see all your teeth! I'm flashing back to when I was 13 and had metal braces.

    But the '54 Chevy grille idea could certainly work. Why not ask someone on the photoshop thread to do it so you can see what it would look like before you start cutting and welding?

    Kenny, the park lights actually go all the way to the last tooth. I was going to replace them with clear '59 Caddy tail lights or '55 Mercury reverse lights. I plan on adding more teeth, but the extras I've already added cost me $80!
    Thanks, guys!

    Hay 54 chevy : I like the idea ove the clear cad. lights , should look good ; also should loose the front bumper guards. I like the grill in Moon Glow , yours should look close to the same ? P S : I also have a 54 Chevy , its a 150 2dr . Good luck and keep us posted . Kenny g.

  7. Why not pick up a couple of scale model kits and try the mods on that to see if it works? Much cheaper than changing the car only to find you may not be happy with it.

    Doc.

    I'm pretty good with Photoshop, so that'd be easier for me than a model. Also, here's a pic of a friend's car with a similar park light treatment. Yes, I know that's a '53 grill shell, but it'd be close.
