well i got the car running good enough to make the HAMB DRAGS , but not realy looking good enough. so now its time for paint and body. question i have is the class letters on the side .. the A/B type of letters. so what class would my car be in? it has a 301 chevy and is 112 in wheel base. do i need the weight?

It would be an altered i am sure. The class would depend on c.i. to weight ratio. Also blown/unblown and fuel/no fuel but that probably isn't an issue right now.

Enjoyed watching the progress and seeing it run at MOKAN.

It would most likely be a B/A, it could also if it is a little heavy it might be a C/A.

Looks to me like the body is shortened and the engine set back more than 25% of the wheelbase; that puts it in a competition coupe class. Maybe B/C. I don't recall there was a class lower than that for these type cars.

the body is what i think is a '36 ford 4 door that was cut down to a 2 door. was like that when i got it. i built the frame and use what parts i had . its chopped a good bit , not sure how much , and channeled about 8 inchs. it would be an altered but as far as the 25% set back , i dont know but it would be a good guess that its that far if not more. i didnt really build the car to a set style , i just built it. so far it runs pretty good and straight... 12.12 @114 mph at the drags.
