It's amazing what you remember, no matter how long ago, when those memories were part of a very happy youth spent at the SoCal drag strips:D:D:D

I'll post more later... Jay Leno is coming on the TV right now

anybody know anything about this one?? sponsered by Central Chevrolet in Fremont. they are still in business and have been since the 30's. I see Irvington Body Shop on the back... that place just got torn down about a year ago.

  24. I never did think those guy's driving position was all that good an idea. Would you want all that BEHIND you in case of some mishap? I'm going with HELL NO! Yeah, I'm aware there is no sitting behind one of those. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to try driving before I die. That's certainly NOT one of them. I almost got to drive a Hydrogen Peroxide Rocket Funny Car a while back. I think it was called Star Wars. But, there was problems in getting proper fuel at the time. But, on those, the mass behind you is nothing in comparison to a Jet. And if I remember, the seat was in close to that of a normal Funny Car. Not out front in harms way. PS-in those pics? That sure is a LOT of carnage for 96MPH. I sure "feel" for the driver, that's for sure
