Some of those old paint jobs really were over the top and cool looking at the same time.

HARVEY_zps45b73a6e.jpg My friend Roger Weaver painted everything you see here. He has some amazing Harvey Ford stories.

No worries Tommy. It's been floating around out there since the old gas/fx group days. I always liked offbeat cars like this one.

Breedlove, the 3-wheeled jet car that took Craig into a pond at the end of the track at Bonneville, who would have thought that drowning could be a hazard at Bonneville? Craig got out ok, and seemed almost unfazed by the situation!

Anyone know who owned/drove this Vette? Berkley Auto Electric was right down the street from Midwest Auto supply. Wally Boothe, Dick Aarons, Ron Reader, Sam Gianino, Mike Fons etc.

Teddy Boschma. This picture is either 66 or 67. In 68 and 69 they ran B/G with a 427. The car was named Gorilla.

I found these shots on a San Fernando blog:
    http://www.nhra.com/blog/blog.aspx?...PostAlias=29985&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
They are small and sort of grainy, but...

    pond.jpg
Looks like the Orange County Metal Processing AA/FD near lane, not sure who he is racing

    pond2.jpg
Here Jeep Hampshire, left, gets ready to race Bill Alexander in the Ernie's Camera car

    pond4.jpg
Pits, only clear ID is the Surfer's push car, assume that their car is next to it...two dragsters on the track behind.

    pond5.jpg
    Carbureted hemi, no ID

    pond6.jpg
    Zeuschel, Fuller, and Moody AA/FD

    pond8.jpg
Wenderski, this was really his home track

    pond7.jpg
Was in motion, John Mitchell's Jr. fueler, went off the track into the drainage ditch than ran along the drag strip. The bridge that carries Foothill Blvd is right above. John would go on to run the "Red Mountain Boys" AA/FD and later the Montana Express....I had a similar experience when I grenaded my blown fuel Desoto in the lights, but didn't get quite as far as John did and George Britting was able to make repairs.

    pondchurch.jpg
The caption calls this Ivo's car, but it has a sbc...maybe Don Gaide? The church in the background is the source of the noise curfew (you can barely see it)...preacher complained that the noise was disrupting his sermons, so competition cars could run only between 12 - 3. Another story told on an earlier post on this thread is that when the Valley Home Service blown Chev gas dragster shattered the flywheel in the traps, pieces of it wound in the church and the preacher angrily brought them to the track manager, apparently wanting an end to racing...
