I thought that but couldn't remember the name. I think I may have seen this driven on the street late at night at a high rate of speed.

That's correct, Six Flags Dragstrip. One of my dads friends ran there a lot. I grew up near Houston.

This is a pic of my dad at Six Flags. He liked the traction and stopping distance there.

  5. One of the most bad ass Willys that ever ran. With a small blown Olds in B/GS Ron Nunes set the NHRA record at 9.96 at a time when Maz, SWC, K.S. and a the like in A/GS were still running low 10's. The big boys bitched and moaned and threatened to boycott if NHRA let the record stand. NHRA caved, and retired Nunes' record as "unrealistic". What, drag racing political??? ;)

The picture of the Nichols Bros. Olds is one neat picture. No date required on this one.
I liked the Iacono car better with the GMC Wayne 12-port in it. Beautiful car either way.

The Mallicoat Bros. live in Chino Valley, AZ. They have a '67,'68 or '69 Barracuda they used to bring to Speedworld every once in a while. Still as skinny as ever and really nice guys.

There original Willys coupe has been found in California and is being restored to the Turbo configuration. I heard that they tried to buy it but the owner doesn't want to sell it.

Gerry and Gary are great guys. They came to the East coast a few years ago and toured with the S&S Team. My husband an I were lucky enough to be able to join them. This car is awesome. Sorry if it's too modern for this site but I wanted everyone to see it.

Anyone who was at the Texas Motorplex when Eddie became "The first in the fours" will remember 10,000+ fans chanting EDDIE!!! EDDIE!!! EDDIE!!! EDDIE!!! EDDIE!!! as he made one of the most memorable pulls back down the return road in his long, wonderful career.
