The "dead engine" in the first of these four shots came from Tom Toler's famous explosion at Irwindale:


This was posted earlier on this thread by Rick Finch (anybody know where Rick is, he used to be a regular poster on this thread?)

The battered funny car in the lower picture baffles me...Shush Matsubara went through a really bad FC crash in Joe Pisano's Camaro, but the only legible name on the crashing car is "Matsuname" (or something close to that)...over to someone else who may know more

 

Another good catch. I'm going to look a little closer at these before I post them. The dually simulators are a dead give away too. I think I'm missing the details because the photos are much smaller when I save them.

The green wreck was a willys that belonged to Brown Nitsche and Dyer and I think the next one might have been Herrera and sons, at least that's what the logo in the picture looks like.

 

Just post these as a one time deal. Not the cars but period correct guys behind many of them.

Rick Finch got pretty disillusioned with the HAMB. sad to say, my friend Rick has moved on.
