I sure miss the days of the FIRE-UP road and the TURN AROUND BALLET.

This thread has some great shots,so much racing,so little time. You really need to be everywhere at once to see it all. Here's some from Oz taken a few years ago.The FED smoking at Surfers is the old Beebe & Mulligan car driven by Peter Dykes brought over by the Surfers management in1970.The guy on the blue drag bike is Peter Osterio who passed away last month in the US.most of these cover about a 20 year period.Keepn roddin'.

Here's some more. The Mustang in the previous post isn't drag racing but it was the most famous of the tourers in the 70's and was driven like this all the time. Taken at Warwick Farm(the Esses). Keep on roddin'.

Oh well, her's some more.I've only got a few hundred to go but not today. The Alki Burner in last post is Jeff Burnett who runs a business in US doing magnetos and injection setups. The AA/FA is Graham Cowin on his first 200mph pass, the tyres really get out of shape.Keep on roddin'.

    A4ord,
lets see how many I got right. Straining the old memory banks here but an interesting way to start a snowy Saturday morning here in Indy. Starting from the top:
?, Cowin, Gary "Klappa" Phillips, Steve Turner, Jim Read, Peter Dykes, Read again, ?, Pete O, Alan White, Victor Bray, Jim Walton (Jim Dunn's old car) Hans Van Dyke, Big Pete G, ?, ?, Martin, Miles, Wileman, Norm Oakey, Georgette, Bill Croft, ?, Cowin, Warren Armour, Dykes, Wileman, Pete Allen (Withers American Airlines car), Burnett, Dennis Walford, Oakey, Georgette, ?, Wileman, Kevin Pinkstone, Dennis Syrmis, know the car-can't remember the name ?, Bob Dunn, ?, Dunn, Fullerton and Doheny, Syrmis, Rod Hadfield (or the car's original builder--memory blank again).

I've seen that car race quite a few times in the local "King of the Hill" events. I'm guessing by the screen name that you used to have the blue 928 with a similar alcohol Hemi? Danny Humphries by chance?

  29. The best looking of Arnie's cars, in my opinion. From 07/68 issue of SS&DI.
