Was this dodge a Roadracer or NASCAR ,or Cam Am !!! the car itself does not look to be a DragCar ,
    But the motor does .
I see now it was a NASCAR trying to break 200mph!!

A NASCAR Stocker set up for a speed record attempt using the blower instead of the standard carbs

Might have been set up by one of the tire company's for P.R. stuff

Jack Ewell's "Chubasco," Fuller car with a body by the famous customizer Jimmy Summers. It has been either recreated or restored -- Jack was a long-time drag racer, and one-time president of the old "Drag Racers Inc.," and later was elected president of the Professional Drag Racers (PDA) the organization that formed in the early '60s to try and get payouts for fuel cars instead of just winning money and trophies....

Ray Fox built that in 1965 when Chrysler was boycotting NASCAR as they were not allowed to run the hemi in the Coronet/Belvedere due to a rule change. Lee Roy Yarbrough drove it close to 200, I believe, on an oval

    More from George Klass, first...

McEwen & Adams "high-back" car, on gas, Fontana

Cook Brothers & Jahns -- Jeff Jahns, part of the Jahns Quality Piston company, drove...this is the last iteration of the sidewinder that I remember, these guys were incredible innovators, but pushed the rules too far, and got their previous versions banned...This sidewinder at least had 4 wheels (same blown Dodge as below):

    Cook-Bros.jpg
This was the first version (from Don Ewald's site), three-wheeler, and a jack start (similar to what Pete Robinson did), start the car, raise it on a hydraulic jack, gun the engine, drop the jack, and....it got banned, and the track owners wanted a body, per the rules, so:

    Cook-Bros-Jahns-62.jpg
...it got a body...note that the injector scoop went to the new 4-wheel car....

Fosberg & Hubbard, from Hayward (?)...this sbc (352" if I remember right) gave a lot of blown fuel Chryslers fits, almost beat Garlits at Fresno...I saw it run at San Gabriel, talk about quick off the line!

When gas cars still had taillights and license plates...assuming that one or more Del Rio brothers were involved...

These are from my collection (some of which I swiped from someone else's collection)

  22. Scotty's roadster might have just came off the trailer. The chrome radiator shell is covered up too.
