Not Beebe & Mulligan but the ex Leland Kolb, Woody Gilmour chassied rail. it became the Chesterfield Rear Engined car and then went to Fred Perotta.

 

That Fiat is Hilborn injected (not converted to EFI) has a manual trans, is tagged and is street legal. He does drive it on the street. We talked for a while in Bowling Green a few years ago. Very cool piece.

Leland Kolb was a tad taller than Zook.
So who needs a 6 point cage!!

 

Note the close proximity of spectators. No guard rails to interfere witht eh driver/spectator experience

 

WCD, it's not quite as bad as it looks. Leland is heading back to the pits on a warmup.

 

But I reckon ones like this are a bit scary.

ok im on page 165 so far,Im Looking to find two cars-first ones 56 tbird maroon said century speed and sport on the door,2nd is a 37 fiat ,"swamp Yankee","chinese Banditt" both raced in new england

When this car ran at the 1967 PDA Championships, it arrived with some experimental Goodyears. The car hooked up so well that it ran 7.30s! ET's which no gas burning car was close to. It won of course. And while there might have been other factors contributing to the performance gain, the tires played a big part. The sanctioning bodies were always adjusting the weight per cu inch rule for top gas in order to equalize things between single and dual engined cars. Ever improving technology was swaying the advantage of one approach over the other. When the class was eliminated at the end of 1971, the R&D of blown gas motors came to a standstill
