Looks like a GMC powered D Dragster. Maybe home made fuel injection.

Before the Logghe car it was the ' Forsberg & Hubbard ' injected Chevy that put a few 92's on the trailer, so that was my fav of the un-blown rigs back in the early days

  11. Junji, here is a photo I snapped of Sam's Cad Kurtis at Pomona in June of '59. The blown Cad was built by Big Bill Edwards. Sam began racing the car in about 1957. Sam ran this Kurtis until '63 when he bought a new Kurtis 500S Mark II. The new car ran a blown 460 Ford built by Ford guru Bonnis Hurd. The family lost the cars when Sam died. Seems while he was mayor of the City of Industry, he financed the cars with city funds. Both cars survive today just as Sam raced them, They have both been in the NHRA Museum

A/GA - A/Gas Automatic? Never seen that class before; AHRA maybe?

  28. I know there is a dislike for funny cars here, but really they were nothing more than late model altereds, and just as much fun to watch! It was just a new idea, though 50's cars were rodded when they were new. Go figure.
