WOW!!!! I would like to see that in person to see what broke. I must say he is a no fear type person to run something like that with that size engine / blower set up and use that small of a rear tire.

The Pat Foster driven digger of Dusty Rhodes.
I used to drool over this car. Beautiful bodywork.

It was during one of my few ventures to Fontana Drag City (1965) that I saw the car for the 1st time: And it WON! I dont know if Foster was driving, but I loved seeing a full bodied car ousting out the more staid noseless rigs. Rhodes ran the car well into 1967

And what was so ironic was that Revell never offered this car as a kit.

Isn't this car known as the fastest street legal car in the world?

    Sure is.
Andy Frost's Vauxhall. Twin turbo Big Block. 2200hp.
Watched him run a 7.5 at 192mph at the Hot Rod Drags last weekend. That's on regular pump gas, treaded tyres, and full exhaust system.
Reckons he had to dial in a soft power curve as the track was marginal.
    Awesome.

the s&h car was one of the last to rely on weed sweepers, abandoning them only after eveyone else went to the zoomies. This car was wrecked either on the track or in being towed. I beleive it was replaced by the c-t automotive spl. That car featured the same basic design, but was a gold tangerine color. Bobby tapia was pilot as jeep hampshire hooked up with sid waterman i think.

Could be. I was thinking that the Stellings/Tapia car was a legs under car much like the Tognittis machine and of course the Magi-Car.

    Sure does.
The class he races in requires a 25 mile cruise on public roads as part of qualifying. Sometimes in the dark and in whatever the British weather can throw at them. Also includes 2 hot starts. One at a gas station where they have to take on regular pump gas.
