Hill Acala Red Roadster vs unknown blue modified roadster

    Hello,

Competition back in the 1959 Lion’s Dragstrip history brought out plenty of fast, cool looking roadsters. The red roadster is well known as the Creighton Hunter, Hill Acala Roadster with the original Moon Eyes.

But, his competition in 1959 was a well built Blue roadster and the name of the owner or specs have gone by the memory wayside.

So, if you have documented proof of the identity of the blue roadster, I will include your name in this drag racing presentation/publication archive for a giant public library of information that is being created. Thanks… and I will send you a digital HD copy for your files. Please PM me ASAP...

    Speeking of speeling...

The painter WASN'T interested in repainting his misspelled "Odyssey" in my case. I thought it was wrong when I picked up the car, but had no proof. Then checked it once I got home.
I called the painter. His comment was, "no one will notice".
Well, I know that a few did comment, maybe some didn't notice, and some...didn't have balls to say anything..!

Then he has been doing port work for at least 60 years, good for him ! He must have been good at it back then, as the Coleman Bros, had the title of "Worlds Fastest Chevy" for a short time in '61, 8.91 @ 180 !

  15. That is a good picture of Tom Wilford (RIP). I was one of the Willys guys that he came to see in Connecticut.

  21. Two for Thursday, the Malise & Lipori AA/Comp dragster just completed...but not lettered...rolled out in front of Mid-County Buick-Opel on Empire Blvd in Brooklyn, circa 1965...that's Steve Malise in the seat and dad in the middle in the black jacket.
8-71 blown 383 Wedge...dad's affection with the GMC V-blower started with this car and was on every Top Gas dragster they built including Ingenue.
