  4. The '56 is now owned by Rick Pike a friend of the Johnsons. If you go to Auto Imagery and type his name in the search box
you can see the great shape its in today. He has even run it as a SS/FM
car a couple times with a 280"er, 10.50 ets. The Fairlane is Jim VanCleve Jr's old car now owned by Horris Johnson who runs it occasionally, and it
still has the same paint job.

The smoky aftermath of Garlits vs. Bobby Langley at a Houston Drag Raceway match race in 1964. All that smoke was normal in those days! Garlits won.

Far side is the Ridege Route Terrors. Bored/Stroked 283 that ran with the best. 283's were the norm as the newly introduced 327 still new, and thus hard and costly to get

I got to see Bucher win the last coveted top gas dragster title offered by the NHRA at the 71 Supernationals. I found it especially cool of his use of the Mr Gasket clear plexiglass valve covers. You could see the rocker arms move.

You have good taste my man. The Corvairs, while not my favorite production vehicles by a long shot, took on a whole different nuance when the body was distorted to funny car like proprortions. BTW, the Screaming Eagle Corviar of Jay Maybeck was orginally the Super Shaker owned by Pete Seaton
