    Absolutely, but along with the Chevys, he raced Fords, Pontiacs, Plymouths and even AMC's. He was also a real gentleman, as I met him at Portland International Raceway around 1980. He had purchased a 24' enclosed trailer that I had built for a local racer. He showed me how he had finished the inside, and set it up to haul his son Brad's Rocket Car, and we had a wonderful visit. It's always nice, when Legends live up to their reputation.

    I thought Rodney Singer, with a 430 Lincoln won in '59 and Leonard Harris in the Albertson Olds won in '60.

    Hello,
    In 1957 Money Olds with Buddy Sampson and Lefty Mudersbach won the championships.

    “Ultimately, after the many rounds of competition, Buddy Sampson of Phoenix Arizona was declared the Top Eliminator at the 1957 edition of the NHRA Nationals. This was only the third time NHRA had contested a National Championship, and Oklahoma City was the third location in as many years. Yet the facility was a vast improvement over previous venues, and the participation exceeded expectations to such a degree that NHRA had to impose a limit on entries for the first time ever.”

    in 1958, Ted Cyr and Bill Hopper won the championships.
    in 1959, Rodney Singer in the Lincoln powered FED won
    in 1960, it was Leonard Harris in the Albertson Olds FED from So Cal that won.

    @Marty Strode has a great memory !!!
