Does anyone have pics of a black 1948-1949 Cadillac Series 62 (club coupe possibly) that has been running at Atco in the last say 15 years? I recall seeing the car there, all black, unrestored, and it has some huge engine in it that surprised every competitor it goes up against. I don’t know anything more than that having only seen it there a handful of times and on no particular schedule.

The pushbroom adds a bit of focus to the reality of the sport.

That half a second it took for the engine to clear his forehead would make any man piss himself.

  18. The 554 is my all time favorite race car, but I can't give that photo a like. You should have heard Gene's opinion of it!

I had a question about the early dragsters and race cars in general from back in the day 60s and '70s and such. Did people just run open your ends or did they have posies or lockers or Lincoln lockers?

Don’t leave us hanging Dean, what was it Gene didn’t like?
Was it the yellow paint, the K&G lettering, or?

From the looks of the laid back cage, drivers' rearward position, and the rear wheels. I'm guessing this one?

Open rear ends were the norm, clear through the front engine dragster era.
